Frank’s Funnies
A young boy was watching his father write his Sunday sermon. He asked, “Daddy does God tell you what to say?” The father replied, “Of course he does.” Well Daddy, “why do you keep scratching it out!”
Here’s a Thought

To my best recollection there are 13 books mentioned in the Bible not counting the 66 that make it up. That tells me that reference and other books certainly have their place in the life of believers. We should however be very careful that the measuring stick is always God’s Word confirming another text, not the other text confirming the Word of God. Make sure what you are reading is in line with scripture if you are reading for instruction. The authority is always the Bible. Bro Frank
2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
Just for fun
A new pastor was visiting a family in his rural church in the backwoods of mid – Missouri. At dinner he noticed a little pig kept nudging him and pulling at his pantlegs. “That’s a very affectionate pig” he said. “Yes he is,” said the host. “You”re eating out of his bowl!”
Missions at their best!
I am so proud of our Sunday School Classes for answering the call to missions. We had very good participation in the effort to underwrite the inner city camp in St. James, MO. It is so neat to see God go to work in the lives of His people. We had a single contribution of $1600.00 which will underwrite 1 camp all by itself!!!!!!! Praise the Lord! God stirring His people is an awesome thing! Bro Frank
Stress Test

As most of you know I have been going through a stress test for the last two days. While you might think “YUCK” I actually have wanted to take one for sometime now; not because I think something is wrong, but just because I’m a prime candidate for vascular problems (except they didn’t affect my mother or my dad). I’ve never smoked cigarettes, never had chest pain, never had symptoms of heart problems and my lipids are good. The only real danger is my age – 54, that I’m a diabetic with high blood pressure, and my occassional run in with fried chicken. Other than that I’m good! So I don’t really expect anything to come from this testing except for the warning of this being a dead end road and I need to change the path I’m on. So life changes are probably on their way!! “Yippie, Skippee”!
You know though, I’m in the life changing business. Spiritual change that is! I’m thankful today that I have a Savior who loves me, watches over me. I realize that this life is not the goal. Therefore, it becomes a little easier for us to face tragedy in our life knowing we have a God who cares for us. I hope today that your “hope rests in nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness”. It is good to rest in God’s hand. Bro Frank
Thought of the Day

Why should I not gossip?
Leviticus 19:16 – “Thou shalt not go up and down as Talebearer among thy people” KJV
“Do not spread slanderous gossip among your people” NIV
James 3:5 - “The tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth”!
Because God said DON’T! At least that’s how I interpret it. It’s just something to think about.
