Thanks for the memories

Hello to all the UHBC family and friends,
It has been an interesting week for the Pastor and his family. We started the week with a great day off last Monday and then my world began to change dramatically. Tuesday morning my dad, John Whitney, went home to be with our Lord. What a glorious thing the death of His saints, but what a sad event for those left here in mortality. It was quite a shock for me because my dad seemed in pretty good health for a man of 89 years.
Death is the great thief. It was never God’s intent that we would be separated from those we love. The physical separation is but a temporary one for those who believe and trusted in the Lord as Savior and Master of their lives. My Dad is but temporarily separated from me because we will both be in that glorious place where my Savior, Jesus is reigning. I rejoice in that hope and security that my dad, or “Pop” as I knew him, is safe.
I hope and pray that you too can rejoice in the victory of knowing Jesus has paid it all and that you have accepted Him as Savior and Lord!
Thank you for all the prayers, cards, flowers, memorials, visits, food and kind words. You will never know how much they have blessed and helped.
Bro. Frank

Bro. Frank: I doubt you remember my husband and I, but we used to live in New London and attended a revival you led at FBC there a couple or so years ago. My husband was a new Christian and really enjoyed your services and on the last night, gave you a handcrafted leather New Testament cover. Anyway, we just heard about Mr. Whitney and wanted you to know you and your family have been in our prayers this past week. We are so sorry for your loss. Mr. Whitney was a great and wonderful man of God. He always had a smile and a good word.
Shane and I moved to the Jefferson City area in November last year and haven’t found a church home yet. Maybe we should come visit Union Hill! I am the Director of the Salvation Army Center of Hope Shelter in JC and Shane is a Fire Inspector with the State Fire Marshall’s Office (he was with the DOC as fire/safety mgr).
Blessings to you and your family. Maybe we’ll see you soon. My office number is: 573-635-1975 x 111 or cell 573-353-4720. Have a blessed day! Shane & Vicki Bullock
We are so sorry for your loss, but rejoice with you in knowing that he is with the Lord! Thank you for being a blessing to our church family and a great friend. It is refreshing to know that we have a pastor and his wife, who’s walk with the Lord is faithful, true and above reproach. God bless you both!
