Something to think on.

What does the Bible say about marriage?

Genesis 2:18 – “It is not good for man to be alone. I will make for him a suitable helpmate.”

Genesis 2:24 – “For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and will be united with his wife, and they will become one flesh.”

A husband and wife are the closet possible unity, really a single organism.  It is God who brings this union about and it is God who sanctions marriage, and it is God who”knits” the hearts of husband and wife into “one flesh”.  The term that God used is “helper”.  It paints a picture of completion.  Your spouse completes you and therefore makes you more than you were without them.  It is the picture of the completion of God’s creation.  The sacrifice of the son(Jesus) makes the bride (Church) so much more valuable.  Together we are one in the heart of God!
