Jeremiah Daniel Cook, 23, of Holts Summit, Missouri peacefully slipped home to Heaven on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at University Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born on November 15, 1998 in St. Louis, Missouri; a son of LP III and Amy (Keaton) Cook.

He attended the Special Learning Center and was a 2019 graduate of Kirchner State School. After graduation, Jeremiah attended Day Solutions where he greeted his friends and gave the weather report at morning circle. He also helped his friends achieve goals by allowing them to read to him which he loved.

Jeremiah was a friend to everyone and his smile brightened everyone’s day. Anytime you were lucky enough to hear him laugh, you had to be happy along with him and usually would join in his laughter. Jeremiah faced challenges from the beginning of his life and enjoyed proving he could exceed expectations. His family learned quickly that they should not be limited to what anyone thought a handicapped person should or should not be able to do. Jeremiah was the family thrill seeker and loved to “go fast.” Jeremiah enjoyed a great trip to Disney World where he left Grandma Rita behind while he rode many of the big roller coasters. He loved skiing and got to do it at Breckenridge, CO and Santa Fe, NM through great adaptive programs. In fact, Jeremiah skied blue and black slopes before Ben and Denali and he loved choppy snow that made his ride bumpy. Jeremiah also loved going fast in his wheelchair and was particularly fond of friends who would run with him. In spite of his physical limitations, Jeremiah enjoyed family road trips, including Grammy and Pa, to multiple national parks. Jeremiah enjoyed music and would clap, rock, and sing along to the praise band at church. He brought much joy to all those who knew him. His family will miss him greatly but take comfort in knowing he is healthy, whole and seeking new thrills with his Savior.

Jeremiah is survived by his parents, LP III and Amy Cook; twin brother, Benjamin Cook (Sierra) and sister, Denali Cook; grandparents, Lawrence II and Charlene Cook and Rita Sudholt; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends including his church family. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bob Keaton, and his step-grandfather, Duane “Chub” Sudholt.

Friends be received on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Union Hill Baptist Church in Holts Summit. Memorial service will be on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. also at Union Hill Baptist Church. Inurnment will be at the Old Lebanon Cemetery in McGirk, Missouri at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2022.
